Amy's thoughts... Holmes Chapel Gifts & Interiors

Holmes Gifts and Interiors has just celebrated it’s 4th birthday, I can’t believe it’s only been four years. In this time the shop has grown into a Holmes Chapel favourite for gifts, home ware and personal treats.

Chloe and Kerry were kind enough to give up their time for a chat about their journey, motives and development of their beautiful little shop. It’s somewhere I often frequent and can’t seem to leave empty handed. I love the ease it puts into present buying, something I usually find stressful and more of a chore. There is an eclectic selection of luxury goods sourced from local and UK suppliers meaning there is something for everyone.

Starting from a love for beautiful things and a needed change in career Holmes gifts and interiors began with house parties and local fairs. Originally occupying a smaller space across the road they have been able to expand the business to a larger space and online store. Picking the items to stock seems like so much fun. What could be better than a job shopping for your shop? Chloe, Kerry and Mary have fine tuned the art of filling the shop with items perfect for the Holmes Chapel consumer.

Holmes Gifts and Interiors offer a wide range of products. There are candles, jewellery, clothing, flowers, home ware, glass ware, soft toys and cards just to name a few. The products are constantly being updated and renewed allowing for a new shopping experience every visit. They have recently started their own line of candles and infusers that smell delicious and deliver unique gifts. I always try to shop locally as often as possible and I know there are always great gift options for everyone.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear of the wide range of services Gifts and Interiors offer. My favourite being a book behind the desk where you can add things to a wish list, a much needed service for a struggling spouse. They also offer gift wrapping, great for those of us with little time to spare or are fed up with losing fights with the cello tape. Personal shopping and interior design services are also available and they have recently dressed a show home.

With recent events the shop had to temporarily close its doors, however has carried on with the online store and click and collect. They’ve maintained an active presence on Facebook and Instagram which is a key platform for marketing and keeping customers up to date. I’ve personally been drawn in by some fantastic sale items, including a giant canvas painting me and my partner comically carried through Holmes Chapel.

With Christmas fast approaching the challenge of Covid and customers health and safety are being thoughtfully reviewed. In a time of worry it is comforting knowing that there is a place right on our doorstop to buy our Christmas gifts. Thank you to the ladies from Holmes Gifts and Interiors for your time, I’m already working on my wish list.
